Families of missing Tamils in Vanni
The families of Eezham Tamils subjected to enforced disappearances at the hands of the
occupying Sinhala military in the genocidal war up to 2009 have protest against SL Government. The families of persons subjected to enforced disappearances staged big demonstrations in Ki’linochchi and Vavuniyaa .The protesters condemned SL President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who has been denying to accept that there were missing persons in the secret detentions of the SL military.The former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa was instrumental in escalating the so-called white-van abductions and secret detention of former LTTE members.When the occupying SL military announced ‘amnesty’ for ex-LTTE members if the families chose to hand them over, many parents and families opted to do so in the hope of reuniting with them after a period of imprisonment and so-called rehabilitation by the SL military.However, hundreds of former LTTE members handed over to the SL military by the families at the presence of their loved ones never returned, and their whereabouts never revealed.

2009 வரை நடந்த இனப்படுகொலை போரில் சிங்கள இராணுவம் ஆக்கிரமித்தபோது ஈழத்தமிழர்களின் குடும்பங்கள் கட்டாயமாக காணாமல் ஆக்கப்பட்டு போயுள்ளன.
வலுக்கட்டாயமாக காணாமல் போன நபர்களின் குடும்பங்கள் கிளிநொச்சி மற்றும் வவுனியாவில் பெரிய ஆர்ப்பாட்டங்களை நடத்தின .இது ஸ்ரீலங்கா இராணுவத்தின் ரகசிய தடுப்புக்காவல்களில் காணாமல் போனவர்கள் இருப்பதை ஏற்க மறுத்த ஸ்ரீலங்கா தலைவர் கோதபய ராஜபக்ஷவை எதிர்ப்பாளர்கள் கண்டனம் செய்தனர். முன்னாள் பாதுகாப்பு செயலாளர் கோட்டபயா வெள்ளை வேன் கடத்தல்கள் மற்றும் முன்னாள் எல்.ரீ.ரீ.ஈ உறுப்பினர்களை இரகசியமாக தடுத்து வைப்பதில் ராஜபக்ஷ முக்கிய பங்கு வகித்தார். ஆக்கிரமித்துள்ள ஸ்ரீலங்கா இராணுவம் முன்னாள் எல்.ரீ.ரீ.ஈ உறுப்பினர்களுக்கு ‘பொது மன்னிப்பு’ அறிவித்தபோது, குடும்பங்கள் அவர்களை ஒப்படைக்க விரும்பி, பல பெற்றோர்களும் குடும்பங்களும் தேர்வு செய்தனர். சிறைச்சாலை மற்றும் புனர்வாழ்வு என அழைக்கப்படும் ஒரு காலத்திற்குப் பிறகு அவர்களுடன் மீண்டும் ஒன்றிணைவதற்கான நம்பிக்கையில் அவ்வாறு செய்தார்கள். ஆயினும், நூற்றுக்கணக்கான முன்னாள் எல்.ரீ.ரீ.ஈ உறுப்பினர்கள் தங்கள் அன்புக்குரியவர்கள் முன்னிலையில் குடும்பங்களால் ஸ்ரீலங்கா இராணுவத்திடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டனர். அவர்கள் இருக்கும் இடம் ஒருபோதும் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படவில்லை.
